9th Exterior Color Option for Durango Matches Buyers Bruised Credit Score

With the new "After Dark" hue, buyers can now match their Durango to the exact shade of unpaid medical bills.

Dodge has introduced After Dark, a deep metallic blue that becomes the Dodge Durango ninth exterior color for 2027. It shines blue in direct sunlight and turns nearly black after sunset, like a fresh bruise learning how to lie to coworkers.
The privilege costs $595, roughly the amount a future owner will spend replacing one wheel after discovering curbs have remained undefeated since ancient Rome. Dodge calls it personalization. Your bank calls it another spoonful of debt gravy poured over an already full plate.

After Dark is available throughout the HEMI powered Durango lineup. Buyers can pair it with the 360 horsepower GT, the 475 horsepower R/T 392, or the 710 horsepower SRT Hellcat, aka Excessive, Deeply Stupid, and Your Children Now Know the Taste of Dashboard Plastic.
“We wanted a color that whispered elegance while the exhaust screamed divorced roofing contractor,” explained Dealership Color Specialist, Misty Payments, standing beneath fluorescent lights that made her complexion resemble expired deli ham.
The full 2027 palette now contains nine colors: After Dark, Redeye, B5 Blue, Destroyer Grey, Green Machine, Night Moves, Pitch Black, Red Oxide, and White Knuckle. Those are not paint names. These sound less like colors and more like medical symptoms collected after licking the handrail at a monster truck event.

After Dark can also be ordered on the Durango SRT Hellcat Jailbreak, pushing the number of possible build combinations beyond 16 million. Dodge has therefore created more ways to decorate one SUV than most people have ways to avoid calling their father.
“Mine is one of one,” announced Amateur Vehicle Appraiser, Rarity Bites, pointing toward a black wheeled, blue painted Durango identical to six others idling outside a vape shop that was once a condemned dentist office.
Sixteen million combinations sound impressive until the average owner installs cheap window tint that turns purple, black lug nuts that immediately rust orange, and a windshield banner applied with the accuracy of a drunk asshole.
The paint changes character with the light. During the day, After Dark resembles an expensive bass boat owned by someone being sued over a retaining wall. At night, it becomes a shadowy refrigerator with angry headlights and a driver six inches from your bumper despite four open lanes.

Dodge says the Durango combines muscle car attitude with three row capability. That means Grandma can sit in the back while 710 horsepower rearranges her organs into alphabetical order. The crushed crackers in the third row will reach the destination before she does.
Within six months, the third row will contain crayons liquefied into the upholstery, a petrified nugget shaped like the state of Michigan, and one sock no family member recognizes. The cargo area will smell like badussy and forgotten milk while 710 horsepower waits up front like your thrice divorced unstable uncle holding fireworks.
“The third row makes it practical,” said Director of Monthly Payment Distractions, Warren T. Void, whose children now identify gas stations by smell and believe premium fuel is a major food group.
For the first owner, it will be a dramatic premium color. For the second, it will be ceramic coated and worshipped. For the third, it will receive smoked lights and an adhesive hood scoop. For the fourth, it will be financed through a folding card table beside a tire warehouse.
Eventually, someone named Cash Only Cody will describe it as flawless while the rear bumper hangs lower on one side, the transmission searches for gears like a raccoon trapped inside a vending machine, and a mouse family operates a sovereign nation beneath the engine cover. 84 months of financial strangulation is readily available, however, Yer Bummin', Skip, dignity is on backorder.
